[Text on screen Giving feels good.] [Soft piano music] [Text on screen Katie Watkins Director of Recruitment and Admissions College of Pharmacy The Ohio State University] Katie Watkins: My name is Katie Watkins and I'm the director for Recruitment and Admissions in the College of Pharmacy. Maybe it sounds cheesy, but the biggest cause for me is the students. That is the whole reason why I got into working in higher ed. It's about investing in the future, and I believe in our students, and I believe in the mission of the university and what we're trying to do. So for me, that is the best reason, you know, to invest back into the students here. Katie Watkins: I always wanted to give back to students ever since I received, uh, scholarships myself as an undergraduate student. For me, I'll never forget the day that I got a pretty big scholarship, and it wasn't like a full ride or anything like that. Even just a little bit was so significant, um, because it felt like someone believed in me and somebody thought that I was worthy of that money, you know, that, that they believed that I could do something good with it. So I always carry that feeling with me that I always knew I was gonna give back because of that. So for me, even if it's a small amount, I know that that's contributing to somebody's, you know, somebody's future, but also giving, hopefully giving them that same confidence that people believe in them, that they can achieve their goals as well.
